Blushing Design highlighted Katie + Alex’s wedding on their blog: Boho Wedding at R+R in Vicksburg, MI

“Katie and Alex got married on a beautiful Saturday in August in at R+R Weddings and Events in Vicksburg, Mi pulling off beautiful boho vibes. Natural greenery, organic designs, mauve color scheme all pulling their boho vibes together.

The moment Katie reached out, in need of a florist to help pull off her vision in 2 weeks, I felt a connection to her and couldn’t let her go on with her big day and not have flowers.

Katie’s character is very carefree and fun, matching her boho vibes.  That was my inspiration for designing her bridal bouquet. We used soft eucalyptus, garden vines, amnesia roses, white anemones, antique red lisianthus, blue thistle and white veronica, with touches of soft grasses.   The play of grasses and eucalyptus with focal points of the roses and lisianthus were maybe my favorite.

The chapel at R+R sets a romantic backdrop for saying “I Do” with soft white fabric draping the back wall, refurbished wood pew benches and cocktail lights hung across the ceiling.  Adding one main floral piece to the octagon arch was our way of pulling their wedding vibes together in this beautiful white canvas.

Katie gave me permission to have fun with florals. Those words are the sweetest words to any florist.  While walking the gardens of First Fruits Garden I spotted these beautiful mauve toned pineapple flowers that ended up adding the perfect touch to the floral arch.

If you haven’t been inside the reception area of R+R, it’s the perfect mix of outdoor barn and industrial. Boho weddings tend to take place outdoors in a barn or under a tent, so bringing those vibes into a venue would normally be a little difficult but with the mix of barn meets industrial it worked quite well.  We chose to go with two different types of arrangements designing the room with a mix of tall arrangements and short arrangements with soft greenery on either side. Bringing a touch of the outdoors in.

The tall arrangements were designed on tall gold candlestick pedestals with mostly greens and grasses with pops of mauve, dusty rose and white flowers.   The short arrangements were designed in gold-footed arrangements with the same design and feels as the tall.

Viewing the gorgeous pictures captured by Jacquelyn Genevieve Photography, a friend of Katie and Alex’s, she captured the carefree personalities of the couple and boho vibes we were going for.  It was a beautiful boho summer wedding.”
